What We Offer
Continuing Education (CEUs)
Gold Clinical Seminars offers courses that allow licensed healthcare professionals to earn continuing education credit units (CEUs) required for annual or biannual licensure renewal, in accordance with applicable state and professional guidelines.
At this time, formal clinical certifications are not offered. However, certification programs may be explored as the organization grows.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Arthrofibrosis, also known as joint contracture, is a pathological wound healing disease characterized by chronic inflammation and fibrosis of connective tissue in and around a joint, resulting in severe pain, marked loss of joint mobility, and diminished functional independence in daily life. Physical therapists are often the first members of the healthcare team to encounter an individual struggling with arthrofibrosis. Thus, early identification of the disease and proper clinical management are integral in preventing and/or minimizing its potential deleterious effects on an individual’s daily function and overall quality of life.
Management of Knee Arthrofibrosis is a 1-day comprehensive continuing education course that specifically focuses on the clinical management and treatment of knee arthrofibrosis (KAF). It will provide participants with evidenced clinical expertise-based foundation, diagnosis schemes, and fully practical treatment guidelines extensively covering all the clinical presentations of this complex orthopedic pathology. It will allow the participant to develop the skills to early diagnose KAF and offer immediate clinical support with specialized programs ensuring the best chance of recovery. A hands-on lab component will also be included in this course.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Discuss the differences between primary and secondary arthrofibrosis
Evaluate the clinical features of knee arthrofibrosis for its early detection in the rehab clinic
Analyze clear priorities in the specialized rehabilitation of knee arthrofibrosis
Choose appropriate supportive devices in the treatment of knee arthrofibrosis
Describe the pharmacological treatment and various surgical techniques dedicated to the treatment of knee arthrofibrosis
Identify the psychosocial aspects of patients struggling with knee arthrofibrosis
Apply effective communication skills when dealing with patients and their families/care givers
This course has been approved by the Illinois Physical Therapy Association (IPTA) for 7.5 hours.
